Proposal for a Language Institute in HoChiMinh City

A.  Demand:

Since Vietnam has joined the WTO and other international Trading Organizations such as ASEAN, APEC etc. number of multi-national Company and private Investors coming to Vietnam to explore their opportunity to invest has considerably increased. Further Vietnam recently becomes a very attractive destination for the tourist from all over the world.

In this context the language’s knowledge, mostly English is very essential. Understanding English is recently becoming a trend for the young people and particularly for the labor force in the Ho Chi Minh City. Example: The international Companies often claim about the lack in English understanding of the so called young Vietnamese Manager.

Meanwhile the level of language’s program at the public High School does not meet this requirement.

With new Policy the Vietnamese Government has upgraded the educational program in order to respond fully this new challenge.

But with a labor population of more than 5 millions in which the young people has a great part, this measurement seems not to be enough in quantity and in quality to satisfy the actual demand. In the other hand the flow of illegal migration into the city was not mentioned. And it’s about 2 million people.

B.  Services offered:

Actually there are about 24 Language Institute and their agencies in Ho Chi Minh City. According to the opinion of expert there should be more than 20 new Language Institute and Agencies to be built up in the next 3 years.

However, these new Institutes could also not fully meet the existing demand. The reason is due to the quality or price of the services provided by these Institutes does not correspond to demand.

C.  Opportunity

Therefore the understanding of these demands both in quality as well as in price is a very important factor to be successful.

For example:

-         Divide the market into different segment according to the wish, the professional occupation, the capacity and the local of the client etc.

-         Develop the network with public Institutes

-         Set up efficiently the human resource, mostly the composition teacher

-         Etc.
